The wheel bearing is the crucial part for the car, as it carries radial & axial loads and provides accurate guidance for hub rotation. With the development of automobile technology, car wheel bearings have also been upgraded constantly. By now, it has involved four types as follows:
- Conventional type – The single tapered roller bearing.
- 1st generation – Includes double-row angular contact ball bearing type (DAC type) and double-row tapered roller bearing type (DU type).
- 2nd generation – The same configuration as 1st generation, but with flanged outer rings.
- 3rd generation – DAC type configuration but with flanged outer and inner rings.
Axis supplies car wheel bearings and wheel hub unit in a full range of types, covering most vehicle brands from America, Europe, Asia, and the LADA brand from Russia.

Single Tapered Roller Bearings
The conventional type – tapered roller bearings are usually used in the wheel end of the passenger car and heavy trucks, they are also widely found in the differential.
- Mounted in pairs
- Simple maintenance
- For non-driven wheels
- Request lubrication, sealing and adjustment during the mounting
3rd Generation Wheel Bearing Assembly – HUB III
HUB III wheel hub bearing assembly kit includes the features of HUB II, except the following:
- Enhanced rigidity
- Only double-row ball configuration
- Both inner and outer rings have a flange
- Optimum preset preload
- Simpler mounting operation
- Integral active and passive ABS sensor
